Kyneton Trip

posted 17th March 2010

Four promising Preston Kidz were conveyed to Kyneton on Sunday, 14th March 2010 to enter the races held there and they all won prizes. Many thanks go to the generosity of the Kyneton Cycle Club and Alan Sandford.

Alan Sandford and Peter Wykes (PCC) worked out all the handicaps after a preliminary race and their efforts were validated by every starter getting a prize.

Overall the race event was reported to be a fantastic day with even wive's (Rhonda Wykes, Sharon Pekin and Mellisa Whitehead) had a race against the other girls from Kyneton.

Mellisa Whitehead proved too strong and received third place against a pretty strong competition. Findlay Whitehead won the Division 2 Handicap and was the outstanding rider from Preston.

Victorian Track Masters

posted 17th March 2010

PCC members Tony McNulty, Craig Whitehead, Cris Knund and Julian Scott all competed at the Victorian Master's Track Championships over the weekend and all went better than they thought.

Special mention to the efforts of Tony and Craig as they progressed through to the quarter finals in the Sprint, this was especially impressive as this was there inaugral match sprint. They acquitted themselves quite admirably. Tony rode a personal best time for the 750 metre time trial.
