Preston had two teams competing in the Club Teams Time Trial held on Sunday 20th July at Miners Rest and what a fantastic day for racing it was!!!!!!!
It was windy, it was raining, it was the first time in over 25 years that a Preston Masters Team had entered this event. Thats right! And we entered two top class teams.

The adverse conditions posed no barrier for the Masters Men comprising Michael Burke, Stephen Thomas, Rob Devolle and Rob Thompson, who came a credible 14th in their category. Their race tactic of fooling the other teams (as well as themselves)into thinking they only had three riders proved successful. See starting line photos for story confirmation!

But what a race the Preston Masters Women had, absolutley sentational.Gayle Bourke, Coral Pollard and Gail Miller fought through the rain, contended with cyclonic wind speeds, overcame every possible obstacle thrown their way, but still hung in there to come over the line in 3rd place! Remarkable!

CycleSport Victoria Women’s Committee

Women’s Track Development Series Invitation:
* to all CA accredited Coaches
*to all aspiring coaches yet to complete Level 1

If you have an interest in coaching track cycling then we have an opportunity for you to develop this interest. The Women’s Committee are welcoming all coaches of all experience levels to be a part of the 4th Women’s Track Development Series.

We are looking for interested coaches to help plan and run the event, and for new coaches to assist and learn from experienced coaches at work. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to complete your Level 1 practical accreditation component of the Level 1 Coaching Course.

The previous three Track Development dates ran as a series of sessions, each  building on the previous weeks curriculum. The current series will run as a set of stand-alone dates, each with specific goals and agendas. This gives the cyclist the opportunity to develop specific skills in the areas most applicable to the individual.

Please contact gail.miller@cycling.org.au with your coaching details, experience and what you would like to offer to the event. Include any goals you may have for your own development through this coaching experience so your needs are also considered.

As a coach, you are an asset to the sport of cycling and by contributing to this series, both cyclist and coach will benefit greatly from the experience.
